The 19th Amendment, ratified on August 18, 1920, grants women the right to vote. This amendment was very important in the movement to make everyone in our country equal. With this amendment, women were finally seen as equals to men and opened up a whole new world of opportunity for women all over the country.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
